WEEK 1 COMPETITION

      After an eventful weekend, Team 2539 finished with 31 district points. Team 2539 was selected for the 8th alliance by 4575, and their 2019 Ramp Riot partners, 484. Team 2539 assisted their alliance through a hybrid defense - offense.

​       For the first quarterfinals match, they lost to the first alliance, but emerged victorious in the second match, 115 -111. Sadly, the 8th alliance lost due to one penalty in the tiebreaker. Although Team 2539 didn't go home with a blue banner, when they got knocked down, they got back up.

      The event ended on a high note with Team 2539 receiving the Safety Award and the Autonomous Award, both are very prestigious and took a complete team effort. The safety award was rewarded to them due to the incredible safety precautions & safety team skill, and the autonomous award for their consistent, pre-programmed autonomous movements, as well as their automated, turreted, accurate shooter.
 
     Each award is worth 5 points and helped to boost the Krypton Cougar's district rank. Team 2539 planned to have 3 weeks to prepare for their next event at Bridgewater-Raritan, which included improvements to the robot, focused drive team practice, perfecting strategy, working on the Autonomous, etc.. 

     But safety always comes first. Unfortunately, the plans for Bridgewater-Raritan were cancelled, as the competition had to be suspended due to risk of coronavirus, and social distancing limitations. ​
