Franz
Franz was 2018's Power Up competition robot. We had also built an identical practice robot-Hans. Franz first started off with brainstorming, and then we immediately went to the drive base plates. In 3 days, our drive-base plates were fully designed through CAD software, and water-jetted out. This robot had one of the best drive-bases we had ever designed for multiple reasons. It could perform very well in autonomous, as well as tele-operated. It worked very well with our bumpers by providing a strong attachment, and was easily removal, which was also seen with Orion.

Franz competed in multiple competitions this season, along with numerous off-season competitions. Team 2539 took Franz to the Hatboro-Horsham District Event, the Springside Chestnut Hill District Event, and the FMA Regionals Competition. The Krypton Cougars are pleased to say that they did an excellent job at all three of these. Throughout the build season, Team 2539 made numerous changes to the robot, improving it and making it the best it could be. They continued to compete throughout the offseason, competing in Midknight Mayhem and Battle O' Baltimore, winning both.
